Envirolink Northwest promotes collaboration between energy and environmental businesses and the Northwest's knowledge base.
The Northwest of England has the strongest higher education sector in the UK outside of London. With 10 major Universities and numerous research institutes the Northwest has a truly world-class offering in terms of both research and teaching provision for the environmental technology sector.
As the birthplace of the industrial revolution, the Northwest of England maintains a reputation for world-class scientific research and technological development.
Envirolink Northwest, the Northwest Universities Association and the Environmental Technologies Academic Network have collaborated to produce an assessment of the environmental capabilities of the Northwest's universities.
This brochure contains:
- A capability matrix that allows readers to easily identify regional institutions with specific expertise relevant to the environmental technologies sector
- Case studies highlighting real examples of regional expertise in environmental technologies
- Contact details for the key organisations relevant to the environmental technologies industry and research expertise
Environmental Technologies Academic Network
Companies in the Northwest of England are already working with knowledge base partners to develop the new technologies which helps users improve their environmental performance, reduce costs and comply with legislation.
The Environmental Technologies Academic Network is a group of leading environmental academcs from the Northwest's universities, which exists to help companies access the extensive expertise of the region’s research organisations. In addition the network works to develop industry-academic collaborations for the commercialisation and development of novel environmental technologies and services.
Accessing regional expertise
